As of this moment, Serpentine (my new collection of poems, gloriously illustrated in watercolor by Lucy Bellwood, and published with meticulous care by Bored Wolves) is live on Kickstarter.

She’ll be there for two weeks, which is how long we have to reach her funding goal. If you are inclined to order a copy, I would be grateful if you did so (via Kickstarter) during these two weeks.

You can think of this as crowdfunding, you can think of it as a pre-order, you can think of it as a CSA but for art — Community Supported Art, how ’bout that? However you name it, it’s huge for independent authors and artists and publishers to have your support ahead of the book’s release.

It’s not very far ahead, to be sure: you’ll have Serpentine in your hands before the summer’s out.

There are other delightful options that come with your participation in the Kickstarter campaign, including but by no means limited to:

• a handcrafted, calligraphic bookplate signed by Lucy and me
• watercolor postcards (Goodness, these illustrations are incredible. Display them where they’ll give you a lift, or mail them to your friends!)
• handwritten poems in the mail
• our first collaboration (Tell the Turning, 2021)
• a joyful romp of a bookmark I’m personally delighted with, featuring three playful-yet-purposeful otters who may very well be the guiding spirit of this collection
