Creative Compass conversations are focused on you and your practice. Exactly how they’re structured will shift and grow based on your particular needs.
Yes, you could reach out casually to a friend. (You definitely should!) In addition, here’s what I offer that’s different:
- The conversation is about you. You don’t need to think about give-and-take.
- Our conversations are scheduled. Their existence is an aid to accountability, and a supportive presence you can count on.
- I will structure each session for you: I will keep time, take notes, and keep us in scope.
- I have a lot of conversations like this. They’re one of my favorite things to do. I offer my experience and learning to support your process.

Who Am I, Anyway?
Great question. You learn more about me right here.
I developed a passion for this work by doing it informally for friends, and in various job roles. I love to listen, I love to think about process, and I’m constantly seeking to match the why with the what and the how.
I spent a long time in the tech world: developing programs, managing projects, and listening with intention to my colleagues and to the users of products and programs. While sustaining and growing that career in user advocacy, I also discovered and grew my own artistic practice, including collaboratively publishing two illustrated collections of poetry.
I’m also neurodivergent. (A concept not everyone even agrees on a name for. I personally like neurospicy.) My particular flavor has meant significant challenges—and the opportunity to become amazing at—negotiating focus, structure, and executive function.
There’s a lot of help out there for organizing yourself in the workplace. In the less-defined world of artistic practice, not so much. Creative Compass allows me to bring the tools and questions I have learned, created, and still use professionally and creatively, specifically to support your process and practice.
