Focused Support for Your Creative Practice
Creative Compass names both the creative-practice coaching work I do, and my own role in that work. In short:
- I help people with an independent creative practice discern their direction, priorities, and intentions.
- I focus on motivation, executive function, and process, empowering you to do the creative work you want to do.
This is process-focused, foundational work that will help you structure and sustain your practice. I serve as a compass and companion as you find and follow through on the meaningful intentions that will best serve you and your creative or artistic life.

Who Needs a Creative Compass?
Creative Compass is for you if you have a practice of art or creativity that is central to your being in the world—whether professional, amateur, or something else—and you want structured support and companionship for that work.
I work with writers, musicians, makers and crafters, directors of arts organizations…etc.
This is care-work—not productivity coaching, not corporate life-hacking.
I believe in the deep and subtle power of conversation that is friendly, candid, and caring, as well as boundaried and focused.
“Working with Tara for just one session has made a difference in how I’m approaching my creative practice. Her questions were insightful, and her notes afterwards were so useful, I printed them off and posted them as reminders/check-ins for myself. She helped me clarify what I want to do and why. Tara’s support means the world to me and it’s a joy to work with her.”
